The same evening in Taormina. Fresh fruit and vedge on a market stall. One of the many things I loved about Sicily was the fresh produce they have everywhere and the way they put it to use in their cuisine. Simple but ever so tasty. Looks like these stands have a public relations career, promoting Sicily.

Half an hour after taking the previous picture of the Eiffel tower, the sky started getting a wee bit darker. This was the sight from the tower towards the musée de l'homme. It is of course a panorama as well, this time 21 shots went into it's creation. Oh, and no, I did not darken the sky in post-production.

Since Blueair made it possible to fly to Bacau directly, saving us huge amounts of travel time, we went to Piatra for the past weekend. Sardinia again, on the way to the hotel from the beach on our second evening there. The sunsets we saw on the island were magnificent, but I'll get to those in a later post. This is the view on the side opposite from the previous picture. It's a panoramia composed of 17 hdr's based on 5 exposures each so basically it took me nearly half the day to get this result. I took this on the return leg of our road trip. It's a pano of 30 (!) shots. got to say, it took quite some time to stitch these together. The full format result is 27940*4400 pixels and is a tiff file of 395 Mb. I left the one you are looking at when you click it, still quite large (4764*750) so you can appreciate the view better.  To me, this one just screams summer. I love the way the colours came out without any editing done to them other then white balancing. In the right you can just see the mountain the village is named after; Ceahlau (1907m).

On holiday in Romania once more. This time we first went for a day in the lovely village of Ceahlau. I went fishing with Iuliana's uncle in the nearby lake very (very) early in the morning. We've spent a wonderful day at the côte d'opale with a couple of friends yesterday. Going from Cap Gris Nez via the beaches to Cap Blanc Nez. This panorama is a crop of a stitch of 22 pictures. The whole pano in Tif format is a whopping 700 Mb... yes, I was slightly shocked indeed. :-)

Since I have the nikkor 50mm f/1.4G AF-S, I had to experiment around a bit. This is one of the test shots I did just to get a bit of a feel for the DOF achievable with this brilliant lens. I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. I used to have the 50mm f/1.8 but this one dominates!

Last weekend, Iuliana and I went to a family get together in the beautiful village of Waimes in the Ardennes. Beautiful nature walks and loads of fun were had. Both the previous pano and this one have been taken with Stijn's Samsung digimax A50.For this picture I set it to the appropriate "Sunset-mode" which turned it more red. It's a bit over the top, but I do quite like the result I have one more that I'll probably post later.For now, off to the beer-fest on grand place :-)Ow yes, the iphone version is here as usual.

Today I was supposed to have a job interview at Pepsico in Zaventem. I said supposed because my daily life seems to not have lost it's sense of irony. I was going to take the 1142h bus to Zaventem to arrive there at 1221h which was expertly timed as the interview was at 1230h. Iuliana and I went to the floralien of Groot-Bijgaarden yesterday. Thousands of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths blooming away. If you're in the area of the Castle of Groot-Bijgaarden, do pass by there. It really is worth the visit!This is one of the 200-ish pictures I took there and I'm sure there will be several more to follow :-)

These pictures show that there is another, uglier side to Brussels. I went into town yesterday to take pictures as the weather was beautiful, but I wasn't very inspired. I only took 25 pictures and these are two of them. Due to the nature of the images I haven't made an iPhone version.

This is one from the same day as the ones in the botanique.I usually don't do square crops, but for this one I've made an exception as it fit the subject and composition quite nicely.The iPhone version is here. I was up early this morning and took these with the intention of finally doing a panorama.I'm very impressed by photomerge! The full resolution picture is 17021*3039 (yup that's 51 MegaPixels for you :-) ) and 158 Mb as a .psd or 21 Mb as a .jpg. :-s
